Your patent will be filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). If the USPTO requests any additional information, we will respond quickly on your behalf. Through our IP software system, we will keep you up to date about any filing deadlines. We can also protect your patent internationally by filing under the Patent Cooperation Treaty.

Continuing protection of your patent by our lawyers

A design patent will afford you exclusive ownership of your design for fourteen years. Likewise, your utility patent will afford you exclusive ownership of that idea or technology for twenty years. However, you must maintain your utility patent to ensure that protection. Therefore, we will continue to work with you after your utility patent has issued and remind you of any deadline and maintenance fee payments so that your patent is not abandoned.
